(Part three is here, if you missed it)
This is the final part of the tutorial, today we'll cover all the finishing details:
Cut the bonnet.
Form to her head.

Pin till dry.

Stand to dry. You can let the edges curl naturally or tie a string around the bottom to hold it round.

Form a bow from the thin edge of a husk.

Corn silk for the hair.

Spice, my cat, came to supervise. Smear thick glue all over the top, back and sides of her head.Stick on the silk don't worry about the middle the bonnet will cover. If you want to see her hair (no bonnet) you just need to fuss with it till it looks good.

Put the bonnet on and glue on a small strip of husk for a chin strap. Then glue on the bow. You will have to hold it with a pin till it dries. Note I pin the sides of the bonnet where the chin straps are glued till they are dry.

I trimmed the back of her bonnet.

Note that I have added an apron string. Could glue a bow in there. Trim her hair. and give her something to do. She is like the rest of us we like to keep our hands busy. Use your imagination. I pose them.....dipping candles, using the dropspindle, embroidering, Baby in arms and of course the baby and blanket are corn husks, with a corn husk broom, a bouquet of small dried flowers. make a oval flower basket with a corn husk oval and braided handle then add flowers, One year for a teacher gift I gave her a horn-book to hold make a smaller one for a mother daughter.

Sometimes you have to wait till she is dry before she will tell you what she wants to do.

Here is a little one in one of my heart baskets to hang on the wall.
