(part two is here, if you missed it)
Pin the arms to the head so they are out of the way.

Again make sure you put the smooth side to the inside making the ribbed side face up because we will eventually pull the husks down so that what is now in the middle will end on top. If you want an apron it goes over the face with the narrow part of the husk at the bottom. I like to cut the bottom of the apron rounding it off.

Now to start the skirt.......
Start with the nicest and fullest husks. Place the first one in the front with the wide end over the head and the narrow end at the bottom. Continue to overlap the husks as you work around and around........

add 12 to 14 husks for a full skirt.

Sometimes you have to push her head down a little to keep her where she should be.

Wrap string around the waist a few times then tie tightly.

Start bringing the husks down to form the skirt. If things are getting a little dry then dip in water or use a spray bottle.

Work carefully so the husks don't split.

Unpin her arms

Trim the bottom so she will stand straight.

Tie or pin her arms in place. They will stay in position when dry.

Next time we'll add hair, a bonnet, and give the little lady something to do.
